Gae Aulenti

Gae Aulenti since 1956 practiced her professional activity in Milan dealing with architectural design, urban planning, interior and industrial design, theatrical scenography.

After the realization of the Museé d’Orsay (1980-86) in Paris, he oversaw the renovation of Palazzo Grassi in Venice (1985-86). The most recent projects include: the new Asian Art Museum in San Francisco (2003), the National Museum of Catalan Art in Barcelona (2004).
The headquarters of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo were inaugurated in 2005, in addition to the Palavela in Turin for the 2006 Winter Olympic Games.

Among the main awards, the title of Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur (Paris, 1987), Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects – Hon. FAIA (1990), the title of Knight of the Grand Cross of Merit of the Italian Republic (Rome, 1995).
